ESI Wins Top Poster Award at HPLA Conference
Congratulations to ESI for winning the "First Place Poster Award" at the High Power Laser Ablation Symposium (HPLA) in late March.
The poster, titled "Numerical Simulation of Short and Ultrashort Pulsed Laser Processing for Industrial Micromachining Applications" showcased a few of examples of employing ESI laser-material simulation capabilities to help developing process solutions in industrial laser micro-machining applications, as well as recent research work at ESI exploring ~GHz ultrafast laser processing in copper through experiments and simulations. The poster was printed in a 45'' by 35'' poster and was displayed on the wall for viewing during the conference.
Zhibin Lin represented ESI at the conference, held March 26-29 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and presented the poster during the poster session and breaks. Zhibin Lin, Hisashi Matsumoto, and Jan Kleinert were the poster architects.
The poster competition involves researchers from universities and research labs around the world (HiLASE center, CELIA/CEA, CNRS, Sandia and Livermore national labs and Air Force Institute). The conference attendees voted for the poster awards at the end of the conference, which also included keynote speakers, more than 90 oral presentations, and approximately 35 poster presentations.
Well done team!
