ESI is committed to complying with all applicable regulatory and market access requirements addressing Environmental stewardship worldwide. The ESI Corporate Quality function is responsible for oversight of compliance. We continuously evaluate the rapidly evolving requirements of the markets we serve and modify our substance data and traceability management systems to ensure we are positioned to meet analysis, due diligence and reporting requirements.
Although the “large-scale stationary industrial tools” classification provides an exemption from EU RoHS and WEEE requirements for the majority of our products, ESI continues to design for compliance and to substitute RoHS compliant parts on legacy products where ever possible. This approach positions us to demonstrate compliance as RoHS, WEEE and other requirements are adopted in the global market place.
Products which are subject to the WEEE directive are identified through the use of the wheelie bin logo. To help manage the various directive implementation schemes of member states, ESI is a member of EARN (European Advanced Recycling Network) for recycling and disposal. ESI’s European sales office in the UK is registered with the “Northern Compliance” WEEE Producer Compliance Scheme (PCS) which provides reporting and management services.
